Jordi Savall
Jordi Savall is a player of rare sensitivity and virtuosity and his programme of solo works for the viola da gamba is an encylopedia of gamba styles and a treasure chest of baroque compositions. The perfect platform for him to reveal the peculiarly human quality of the incredible soundscape he can produce from his instrument, Savall's programme is split into two harmonious halves - mostly French for the first, predominantly English for the second, contrasting soul-searching introspection and virtuoso playfulness.
