Music for Seven Ice Cream Vans

22 May – 23 May, 7.30pm-9.30pm

Dan Jones

Suburban Counterpoint: Music for Seven Ice Cream Vans is a work by composer, sound designer and theatre director Dan Jones that will reach thousands at once, leaving people unsure as to whether they were dreaming or not. Creating a new acoustic landscape, it is a landmark work that will create memories across communities and be talked about for years to come. A set of seven ice-cream vans will weave a spellbinding counterpoint across an entire suburb at a time, following a carefully-planned route as melodies echo from one van to another, calling out across great distances through the evening and sometimes into the night.
