Australian poet Les Murray is one of the world's greatest living writers. According to Derek Walcott, 'There is no poetry in the English language now so rooted in its sacredness, so broad-leafed in its pleasures, and yet so intimate and conversational.' Former UEA Creative Writing Professor Andrew Motion transformed the role of Poet Laureate before handing over to Carol Ann Duffy last year.
With readings, discussion and questions from the floor, the evening is a rare chance to hear poets whose work is accessible, passionate and speaks to the heart. Murray and Motion will be introduced by Rialto's current (and founding) editor Michael Mackmin.
